I thought that it was way past time to create my own blog. This is no easy task, considering that i am a definite technophobic!!!

My children (and theirs) introduced me to the wonderful world of the internet and all that comes with it!! First google, then ebay, internet groups and blogs!! I have met so many wonderful, charming people that i now call friend. Please bear with me while i blunder and bluff my way through this, until i find my way. Which is how i have survived most of the daunting situations that i have landed myself in!!!

Hang on, help is on its way...

Oh dear, why did i think that it would be easy to change the design on my blog??
Others do it all the time... not me... all i've done is make a mess, and to top it off
the computer keeps freezing, just when i think i've got it!!  I probably shouldn't have
tried without Imogen here to help.. no matter.. it is, what it is...  Help is on its way..
she'll be here as fast as she can. Well,  maybe..
Imogen  Eve
This is my beautiful helper (granddaughter) who keeps me on the straight and narrow, with
computer stuff.. she is 12 going on 22 and just about to start high school. good luck baby..
I have had lots of things going on since before christmas... so it's been a while..but, on the
up side, i have been reading everyones blogs and trying to keep up to date with all that's
happening. Most of you are back into the swing of things and are diving headfirst into new
 projects.. Lots of inspiration there!!
without its roof
I stumbled across this little dolls house a few weeks ago.. It was just sitting on the floor looking
lost and a bit sad...  It needed a new roof, which it now has, though i do need to paint it red!!
I think it once might have had a sliding front door, as there is a groove in the floor where it once
slid.
looking happier
Outside came up really well with a good clean,  and really only the new roof needs paint.
The inside was a different matter. it had been drawn and written on with lead and coloured
pencils... it got 2 coats of white paint..

as it might have been
It's not all that old and it is a commercially made house.. but there were no labels or stickers on it so i have no idea of its age or origin...I'm sure someone out there had one, so i might find out who made it!! It was a very good find at $4.00...  I can't wait to furnish it...

Lots of Love
Christine xxx

  2. sans, shouldn't you be resting! yes it had been sitting on the shop floor with $10 price tag. i bent down to look, shop owner said that she was sick of tripping over it
and offered it to me for $4...
the new design is my effort.. i'll get
imogen to help me clean it up, when she
    visits.. she's got a life.. :)

  3. What a sweet little house, and a great find! So glad it's found a home with you. I don't know the make, but I'm sure someone will. Possibly Toy Works or Playcraft or ???

Your new layout will look terrific - guess why I have a no-frills layout? No daughters or granddaughters to call on - although my sister knows more about web design than I do, but being so far apart, that's not a lot of use.

  4. I am relying on a very dodgy memory here, but it makes me think of a house a friend had in the early 70s. Hers also had a piece of wood across the front (where the flooring slots were) with holes drilled in it and alternating red and yellow plastic flowers inserted in the holes.Aren't you lucky to have such a gorgeous helper! Good luck for high school. :)

  6. What scale is it? I see it full of Bluebox plastic, but that could be because it reminds me so much of my friend's house and that was what was around then.
I keep meaning to tell you a tragic tale - Part of our hospital is undergoing a major reno and I walked home via a skip one day FULL of old partitions made from the most beautiful 50s/60s unpainted ply. While I was thinking about asking if I could have them, we had rain and all were ruined. What awaste!!!! I thought at the time Christine would treasure that ply as well

  8. i'm not sure what it is... rebecca is usually pretty close to the mark... the new roof is painted red now, it looks pretty good. i will have to see what furniture i've got to furnish it. i keep buying bits, so i'm sure i'll have plenty.. i'm so glad you stopped to say hello, i have been absent for a little while as i had some surgery and a stay in hospital, but i'm rearing to go now... love christine
